FLIR infrared cameras are the inspection assets
preferred by building experts for fast, reliable,
accurate building diagnosis in the entire range
of building problems, from post-catastrophe fire
and flood investigations to chronic leaks and
moisture problems. Many insurance companies,
restoration firms, and building owners require
thermographers to have certification in infrared
building science.
Infrared cameras provide
a non-invasive way to find leaks and areas of
wet insulation under the roof surface. Thermography
is a diagnostic technique in which an infrared
camera is used to photograph and measure temperature
variations on the surface of a material.
Your roof heats up during the day, then begins releasing heat when the sun goes
down. Because wet areas of the roof hold heat longer than dry areas, these
will show up as warmer areas on an infrared picture.
